In this course, you will explore the tools available to test pediatric balance function, with focus on questionnaires and VEMP testing.
Over the last few years there have been studies and publications identifying a clear need for balance testing to be integrated into care plans for children with sensorineural hearing loss. But with many pediatric audiologists not having specialist skills in vestibular assessment, the question often arises, what is the best way is to start to integrate vestibular assessment for infants and children?In this course, we will explore the tools available to clinicians and focus on how to get started with testing pediatric balance function. Focus will be placed on questionnaires and VEMP testing with practical tips on running these measurements in infants and children, with a discussion on rehabilitation options for children with vestibular hypofunction.
